DIY Wednesday

In this Children Inspire Design Do It Yourself series, artist Rebecca Peragine explains how to display art collections without frames.

I like to think of creative ways to display art without the extra cost of frames. In this series , I'll explain different ways to create inexpensive (or free) ways to create unique spaces. Here's a perfect example of how create eco-friendly framing on a budget.

What you will need:

  1. Cork board
  2. Adhesive dots
  3. Tacks
  4. Art prints or wall card
  5. Ruler

Step 1: Buy cork at any craft store, or you can even find the items at Target. The cork board below is 12x12 and comes in a set of four ($6). You'll also want to purchase a box of adhesive dots ($3).

    Step 2:

Use tacks as markers after measuring one inch from bottom and two inches from side.

    Step 3:

Place art (back side up) on cork panels, then place dots in corners.

    Step 4:

Rest art on tacks and remove once it's in place.

    Step 5:

Put dots on backside of cork, place on wall and you're done!
