Designer of the Day - Gwendolyn Garcia

Deck the halls with monster garland, Fa la la la la, la la la la!

This week we shine the spotlight on Gwendolyn Garcia, a 26 year old designer originally from New York. Gwendolyn has been inspired by many things and people, from pop culture to characters she loved as a child. She started creating these banners to add a little whimsy to her craft room, and ended up decided to share them with others. 

Her fans love her well crafted ornaments and garlands. We especially love her Kawaii Monster Garland Banner. "I love her garland because of it's originality," says Rebecca Peragine of Children Inspire Design. "I'm ordering these for my boy's room for sure!" 

Each monster is hand stitched and measures 4x4. The banner has a total of eight monsters and measures out to 32" in length with no gaps in between. However, as pictured below, you are able to arrange the monsters on the chord any way you would like. 

Gwendolyn doesn't just make these cute garlands, she also makes ornaments, magnets, tote bags, stuffed animals, pins and rings. Visit her Flickr page for more photos are her creations.
