Buying Handmade - Why it Matters

Over the last few years, shopping small and handmade has gained significant ground and we couldn't be happier. At CID, we believe that the connection between artisan and buyer is a strong one when the buyer sees the value in the story and the hands behind the product. That personal connection invites the buyer to become part of the story, part of the special handmade movement. There is undeniable value in purchasing handmade products. By buying handmade, you know you are supporting an artist directly, and as a result, you support the local economy. In return, you get a unique (sometimes, one-of-a-kind!) product that has meaning and soul behind it. It's a win-win.

Chiapas Journey 3 {absorbing art & beauty}

{thoughts from a travel journal}   A few months ago, Rebecca of CID and FWM took a trip with her family to Mexico. Their wish to experience how the companies' donations assist the Melel Xojobal Organization was exceeded by much more. Not only was their learning about another culture, but there was profound appreciation.
